Years of Dragon 2012
Fifth in the Twelve Year Cycle and the most regal of the signs, the Dragon is self-assured, brave, passionate, conceited,
and quick-tempered. Dragons are the free spirits of theChinese Zodiac and are born monarchs. Dragons must be free
and uninhibited as restrictions blow out their creative spark that is ready to ‑ ame into life. The Dragon is a beautiful
creature, colourful and ‑ amboyant. With bundles of energy, gifted and irrepressible, everything the Dragon does is on
a grand scale.

However, this behaviour is innate and is not meant for show. Because they are con dent and fearless in the face of
challenge, they are inevitably successful.

People born in the year of the Dragon usually make it to the top. But, they must be aware that too much enthusiasm can
leave them tired and unfulfilled. They find pleasure in helping others, and one can always count on their help. Their
generous personalities enable them to attract friends, but at heart they are rather solitary. They can also be irritable and
stubborn. The Dragon is a real big mouth and their words often outrun their thoughts. Nevertheless, their opinions are
worth listening to and their advice is always good. Those born in the year of the Dragon like to spend money and are
charitable with others.

They are financial risk-takers and are usually successful. They will always be straightforward in financial dealings and
can always be trusted.

If you ignore the dragon, it will eat you. If you try to confront the dragon it will overpower you. If you ride the dragon,
you will take advantage of its might and power.

Famous Dragons are: Jeffery Archer, Roseanne Barr, Juliette Binoche, Pierce Brosnan, Sandra Bullock, Courtney Cox,
Colin Farrell, Rupert Grint, David Hasselhoff, Tom Jones, Grace Kelly, John Lennon, Courtney Love, Liam Neeson,
Al Pacino, Rihanna, Isabella Rossellini, Ringo Starr, The A Teams Mr. T and Reese Witherspoon.

The Dragon gets on best with those born in the year of the Rat, Monkey and Rabbit but not with the Dog.

The years of the Dragon are 1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012.

In 2011, Dublin City was awarded Intercultural City status as part of the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities project,
and DCNYF was cited as ‘an excellent example of a truly intercultural event’ by Robert Palmer, Director of Culture and
Cultural Heritage at the Council of Europe.
